im back!! a break fr e camps! theres so much to say and i dunno where to start!
lets start off w e smux camp. its one of e most challenging and fun camps ive been to, seriously. ive never tried so many extreme sports in jus 2.5 days. its amazing!
like ive mentioned in my previous post, we did trekking on e first day. started off fr near scgs that unused railway station and trekked all e way to clementi area. got lotsa mosquitoe bites and nearly tripped over branches. we even walked thru a long stetch of muddy water, almost slipped too. haha. luckily we had e guys to support us. theyre reallie a nice bunch, lots of crap, esp manfred. manfred so happens to be marcus's best buddy, and marcus told me to look out for this eyecandy in smux camp, and so coincidentally, we are in e same grp. haha. other guys in my grp include nick (victorian too), roy (real gentleman, always offering to refill my bottle, cos he wants to drink!!), ck (quiet at first, but actually a real joker), jonathan (fr acjc who cant speak chi properly) and finally manfred (scandalous guy w lotsa flings), haha. my description not bad eh. girls we have chaw mun (nicknamed dorothy, aiya long story la), deep (small sized girl but vv sporty), rita (our tai-tai!), huiling (shortest!! haha) and me! so as i was saying, most of e guys were fr ocs, or at least command sch, so theyre quite fit and strong. can help to support us fr falling down or climbing up and down blah blah.
2nd activity was nite biking. we rode fr where we stopped trekking all e way until west coast where we spent e 1st nite. we started at abt 8pm, and reached west coast at ard 12 plus 1am.. not too sure abt e timing but abt there la. travelled along e expressway, and stopped along petrol kiosks to pick up some food and drinks. thanks to roy who paid for our food first. oh ya, did i mention i alwaes kope their food.. haha. roy will always share his food w e girls.. haha. so we dun have to pay anything!! yay! nite biking was tiring but damn shiok. tiring when we rode up e jurong hill, but shiok when we zoomed down. ahha. we arranged ourselves in a single file, w alternate guys and girls, so that we can look out for one another. we didn shower e first day cos there wasn showering facilities at west coast! dunno how e guys managed to shower too.. haish. we slept ard 3.30am and woke up 7am e next day.
2nd day morning we did roller blading. surprisingly all e guys can roller blade and all e girls cant, except for deep. so again, e guys helped to teach us roller blade. jon and nick can roller blade damn well la, performing stunts here and there. haha. show off!
okies, so aft that, in e aftnoon we did kayaking. i thought that was e most fun part of e camp. we did it in pairs, one guy and one girl. again, e guys are e experienced ones in kayaking and cos theyre physically stronger, they tend to do most of e job. manfred's my partner, and he reallie helped to alleviate my burden alot. haha. and he said i met his expectations cos i rowed more than wad he expected, (how nice rite). and we provided entertainment to other ppl too, cos were alwaes quarrelling. haha. i wanted to tried capsizing but he refused. oh well. haha. so we kayaked to frog island (a few km off changi coast and back again. ck was paired up w our tai tai and he couldn stop complaining aft e entire thing. apparently he was e engine of e kayak and he appeared so shag. haha. surprisingly, my arm didn ache aft e kayaking trip. was i not trying hard enough? hahaha. poor manfred.
for dinner, we had outdoor cooking. e guys took up e job too. to cook noodles for e girls. we had extra food we bid for, like mashed potatoes, satay chicken blah blah. and we put up a commercial act abt guys being able to breastfeed. nick was such a comical actor! whose idea u may ask, manfred and jon la! aft that we had supper at changi village before we slept at 3 plus am again!
3rd day morning we did diving in a swimming pool at east coast there. they taught us e basics la. like how to put on ur oxygen tank and mask and flippers etc. den have a feel of diving underwater. we even played games in e pool. its quite interesting reallie. den in e aftnoon we had a final telematch before we ended e camp. if there were to be an overall winner, my grp would have won. cos we came in 2nd for almost everything la. grp 3 rocks! i love my grp!! we played alot of stupid games like 'ti-ti-tiu', and 'yee-haw'. for 'yee-haw', e guy came up w a combo to sabo ppl, and we went ard challenging other grps, in e end i think grp 1 did a forfeit cos they lost to us. damn funnie. my grp's signing up for nite biking tog.. im looking fwd to that. =)
wah, wad a long post. and i havent talked abt my SOA camp yet. theres jus too much to talk abt!!
my ASOC camp wasn as fun as SMUX reallie. maybe cos SMUX did more extreme stuff and my grp was more bonded then. not that my ASOC grp was boring and sian. maybe cos a few of us were alr vv shag fr camps previously. but e games were innovative and interesting. i dun rmb all e games, but i can list a few. like captain's ball w guys leg tied to girls' leg. swimming into e pool to retrieve mahjong tiles. girls blindfolded and feeding food to e guys w hands tied up behind their backs. too many station games. 2nd day we did beach games at sentosa. didn do well, won some and lost some too. then we had amazing race. super tiring, cos i rmb we kept running ard catching up w trams and buses. but overall, we had a great time together. e nights were free and easy, so we went to have supper. we all love to eat la! first nite we had roti prata at smwhere which i dunno how to go, and 2nd nite we went to have beancurd at selegie rd. manfred's grp went to club. siao man, so tiring la. haha. initally i suggested watching e lake hse at e cathay, but none of e guys wanna watch. in e end we didn watch movies cos e timing's not right. so we went back to our cosy little 'hut' (actually seminar room 2. smth) and played 'drinking goggles'a nd '3 kings'. dunno why i blur or wad, i ended up losing many times and drinking lotsa alcohol. oh chris provided e vodka and we bought some mixers. theres heineken too. doesn taste good though. i was e first to be knocked out. i slept at 2am, while e rest played until 3 plus. haha.
yep. smu has left a good impression on me. at least for now. haha. i heard smu isn as happening as it appears to be. oh ya, one thing before i forget, everyone loves to do e smu jump. haha. we did it like dunno how many times la, captured on camera. u noe in advertisements, they alwaes feature students jumping like vv happy lydat. ya thats e smu jump.
all in all, i made great frens and i had an enjoyable time spent at e camp. $40 for smux and $25 for ASOC was worth it man. =)
